ABOUT ME

How I work

I always consider how culture, race, religion, family and politics affect you and how these things can contribute to problems. I am interested in empowering you with the knowledge that you can create and take control of your present and future, rather than being bound by your upbringing or past experiences. My intention is for you to leave sessions feeling positive, powerful and hopeful.

I work in a collaborative and warm way. If you were a fly on the wall during my sessions, along with much attention to serious problems, you would also see a lot of humor and laughing together.

Experience

I have been a therapist for 15 years. The main “lens” I look through is Narrative, Solution focused and Postmodern Therapy. Many years ago I became interested in Neuroscience and the way the brain works. This knowledge has become an integral part of my work too.

My interest in neuroscience led me to EMDR for trauma and pain management. I also trained at The Harvard Medical School Mind Body Program and I am a certified practitioner of that stress reduction program.

Besides my private practice, I have worked in many different clinical settings including The Eating Disorder Center of California, The Fertility Counseling Center of California, Probation Camp David and as a middle school counselor at a private school in Los Angeles.

PRO BONO

I am dedicated to working with girls and young women who have been the victims of sex trafficking. I offer free counseling to these incredible survivors on a regular basis as part of my practice.

Me

I am married, I have a teenager, and we have way too many animals. I am a “Rock-hound” and love looking for sea shells and hunting for fossils. Many years ago, I was a performer on Broadway.
